Our priority, people

Talent management

At Abertis we help and accompany people to grow and develop by defining specific programmes and initiatives.

We want to encourage and foster an environment of individual responsibility in the development of continuous improvement, where people acquire competencies that enable them to perform their current functions with maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, prepare them for their future growth, both personally and professionally.

We have an annual Training Plan to cover the training needs of all employees, with mandatory, transversal, and technical training, identified by each functional area.

We carry out specific global development programmes for senior managers; mentoring courses, aimed at raising the level of employees' competencies, as well as programmes to identify and develop people with high potential.

Diversity and equality

Commitment to diversity. At Abertis we are committed to achieving a fair and inclusive work environment, in which the contribution of all people is valued. We believe that a team made up of people who bring a diversity of experiences, ideas, and opinions strengthen and enriches our organisation. We promote diversity through selection processes, internal promotion, and training and development programmes

Commitment to equality. At Abertis we are committed to offering our employees fair and equal opportunities in hiring, training and development, compensation, and promotion.

Benefits

Our remuneration programmes are competitive and aligned with the market to attract, motivate and retain our employees. They are established to ensure internal equity and equal pay for men and women.

Nothing is more important than the present and future health and well-being of our employees, which is why they all have Corporate Life and Accident Insurance and participate in a Social Welfare Plan. In addition, our employees enjoy a Flexible Benefits programme, according to which they have an annual amount that allows them to contract the benefits that best suit their personal and family needs. They have the possibility to choose between health insurance, restaurant vouchers, nursery vouchers, transport vouchers, and training, make additional contributions to those made by the company to the social welfare plan, and extend the corporate life insurance, among others.

Flexibility and work-life balance

We are committed to promoting the reconciliation of work and family life. To this end, we have adopted measures that offer a greater and better work-life balance to our employees:

  • Continuous working days from mid-July to mid-September every Friday of the year and holiday vigils.
  • Flexible start and end work times.
  • More days of maternity leave.
  • Possibility of accumulation of breastfeeding.
  • Longer paid leave for marriage, illness, death of family members or transfers.
  • Special voluntary leave for caring, studies, or collaboration with NGOs.

Code of Ethics

We win by being upright, honest, transparent, and respecting the law. Our Code of Ethics is mandatory for all controlled companies of the Abertis Group, as well as for the stakeholders related to the different companies of the group.  For Abertis, ethical conduct and compliance with regulations are more important than results.

The Abertis Group bases its relations with the national and international public sector on the principles of transparency and equal opportunities and rules out any action aimed at gaining an advantage over employees. Our Code of Ethics guarantees rigorous treatment of our information and that of third parties.
